Video isn’t just a part of the online experience; increasingly, video is the internet. Every day people watch 100 million hours of video on Facebook. During prime time in the US more 18-49 year olds tune into YouTube than the top 10 TV shows combined. Time spent watching video on Instagram increased by more than 40% in the past year. And more people watched this year’s VMAs on Snapchat than on TV.
As viewers spread out across social platforms – filmmakers, marketers and content makers of all stripes find themselves producing for audiences that have completely new expectations for what they want in video. The Social Video Next panel will examine the nuances of creating content and producing video for different social platforms, illustrate the opportunity for impact with new audiences, and discuss divergent view counts and the metrics that matter.
